I found listed in the 1840 census record--2 David Wood's. One David Wood in Fitchville and One David Wood in Fairfield. I haven't viewed the census on micro film but they are listed as being on page 336, Fairfield and page 363 Fitchville. Hopefully, details in the record would provide you enough information to discern which one is your David Wood. Shirley
