I recently made my first trip to Jackson County and the sorrounding area.I had been told by parents that my grandparents had resided in Jackson and Vinton Counties. I was able to find some relatives in Vinton County. My tour of Jackson resulted in dicovering a school on Portsmouth Street(Kinnison School). I would like to know how the school was named> Any information would be appreciated.

Also, I understand that my grandparents, James and Mary Ann Kinnison and Oliver and Martha Jackson lived in the area for a time. I'm told that Oliver and Martha are buried in Jackson County but I do not know the name of the cemetery. Any help would be appreciated.
