John, With the help of Karen, I've pieced together a nice little family for Reuben Russell and Mary Polly Riddle (later Baxter), and perhaps found a son and wife for Andrew Russell. According to Mary Riddle Russell Baxter's estate, early 1830s, she had heirs: Heirs of Andrew Russell, Heirs of Fountain Russell, Rachel Tharp, and Calfernia Baxter. The heir of Fountain Russell was Morehouse Russell. In a later court suit found in Jackson Co, OH, Rachel and Zaus Tharp are suing to divide a piece of land which Mary Polly Riddle Russell received of Enoch and Ruth Riddle Russell. The heirs named in this suit: Morehouse Russell, heir of Fountain; Rachel Tharp, Calfernia Baxter, and a Reuben Russell. Reuben had a guardian: Peter Aleshire. I assume, then, that Reuben is the heir of Andrew Russell. A Martha Patsy Aylshire is called as a witness. Martha is Peter Aleshire's second wife, but I cannot locate a marriage record. I have a hunch that this Martha Patsey is Reuben Russell's mother. She had two daughters by Aleshire, and on the death certificate of Louisiana (Lucy Ann) Aleshire Scurlock in Missouri, her mother's maiden name is given as Russell. So, there is certainly some sort of connection. I am pretty sure I've located Reuben Russell, possible son of Andrew, in Meigs Co, OH in 1850 and following.
