Man born 3 June 1890 Jackson Co Oh

This is a curious query, but I am trying to find the birth record of someone who claimed to be born 3 June 1890 in Jackson Co, Oh. In later life he had the name WILLIAM DAVID NEWMAN, but family tradition says that "Newman" was not his real name and that he actually had one of the "Mc" names such as McCain. His mother is supposed to have been named Lydia. Can anyone help? He later lived in Wayne Co., MI.
