William Burris Jr., son of the early pioneers William and Martha Poor Burris, is usually shown as married to Margaret Dempsey with children born after 1831. However, this fails to take into account that in the 1830 census William Burris Jr has five children in his household with no wife, so who was the wife prior to Margaret Dempsey. A contribution on the LDS website (Family Search) shows the marriage of a William Burris to Charlotte Ross in Jackson Co Oh on 18 Nov 1819. No source is given and it does not appear to be among the recorded marriages. Does anyone know its source. It would mesh well with the children for Wm Jr born during the 1820's. Does anyone know the date of William Burris Jr's marriage to Margaret Dempsey?
