Memorial Day, Nathaniel Akers, Vernon Cemetery

Nathaniel Akers, b, 1832, VA d. 1897, OH.
Married to Louisa Jackson, in WV, Fort Gay, 1853.
"Nathan" served in Civil War, Union, F 14 KY Inf. Vols., enlisting
in Nov 1861, honorably discharged 1865. He was a musician (fife)
for the Company.
Nathan is buried in
Vernon Furnace Cemty....I wished I lived close enough to visit and decorate his marker with flags and flowers. I have never seen a picture and only heard his name in the few years I've been researching. He was my G grandmother's father. I wish I knew more about him.

If anyone happens to visit the cemetery this holiday, look for his marker and say a prayer for me.
