Does anyone know why Nathan Mead would need to have the following for his children Robinson, Charles, and John:
Letters Of Guardianship
Guardian's Bond
Application For Letters Of Administration
Application For appointment Of Guardian
These Mercer County, OH documents state that mother, Sarah J. (d. 12.4.1877), had personal property of $80, but a $200 bond was posted by two men and three others were listed as appraisers.
Does anyone know about this family? Does anyone have a guess why a father would have to be legally declared his sons' guardian?
