I am related to Margaret Miller who married Conrad Heffner, who you showed in the 1860 census for Black Creek Township in Mercer County. George Heffner, who lived at the adjoining farm, was Conrad's younger brother. Jacob W. Deitsch married Gertraud Catharine (Charity) Miller in 1852 in Mercer County. They were indeed living in Jefferson Township in 1860. Jacob was employed as a merchant. (1860 U.S. Census, Celina, Jefferson Township, Mercer County, Ohio, Page 140, July 9, 1860, Dwelling 959, Family 962). Jacob and Gertrude had a daughter named Charity who married Leonhard Beyer in 1866. The daughter that I spoke of--Maria Catherine Deitsch--was called Mary in all other records. The church records which were in German refered to her as Maria. Maria/Mary married Andrew Leistner in Mercer County in 1885.
In answer to your question, both are indeed related to my family. I have done much research in relation to both families listed above but I am always seeking more information to fill in gaps. I am still searching for Margaret and Charity's brother, Caspar, who seemed to have vanished after 1852. I would be happy to share any information I have if you are interested.
