I'm looking for info on my family, and I keep hitting brick walls, It doesn't help much that the names (first and last) are spelled differently on one record then the next record. But here is what I've gotten so far.
My Great Grandfather -
from Jefferson county birth Records
Russel E. Dowdel
Born 2-23-1895 (one set of records says 2-28-1895)
Died March 21, 1977 - Adena Ohio (Ohio Death Index says he died in Martins Ferry, Ohio Belmont Cty) but my family said he died in Adena (so I'm thinking he died at the hospital in Martins Ferry.) it also says he was a Widow when he died.
His parents names are
Father: James Dowdel
Mother: Nora (Umbower) Dowdel (it's also been stated her name was Lenora and Lenore)
1900 census - Warren TWP - Jefferson County - (not sure of the town)
HOH - James Dowdell 35 yrs old - Born Ohio
Wife- Lenora Dowdell 35 yrs old - Born Ohio
Russell Dowdell -5 yrs old
Wilbure Dowdell -7 yrs old
Elmer Dowdell -9 yrs old
Albert Dowdell -3 Yrs old
Clarence - 1 Yr old
1910 Census Says Colrain with 2 more children Grace & Henry
Russell Not in the home
1910 census

Age in 1910 - 15 yrs
Est Birth: 1895
House hold members:
John Rigsby - 64 years old
Della Rigsby - 65 years old
Russell Dowdell - 15 yrs old
Alex Johnson - 38 yrs old
I do not know who John & Della Rigsby are Or Alex Johnson, nor do I know why Russell was living with them & not his parents.

Russell married Nora Nolan - I do not know when or much about her, this is what I have and not sure if it's even for her. Since at some point her and Russell got a divorce and she married my grandmothers father (Earl Mitchell after my grandparents were married, Russell ended up married to my grandmothers mother Lucy v. Thompson) SO I don't know what last name Nora used when she died.

for the WW1 Draft Registration 1916-1917 it states
Russell E. Dowdell - 23 yrs old - Born Ohio
Parents: Farm Laborer
Nora (Nolan) Dowdell 22 yrs old, Born Ohio
parents : Ohio
Edna Dowdell 2 years old
Marie Dowdell 10 Months old
This is all the info I have, But I'd like to know when Russell and Nora were Married, and Divorced. when Nora was born - who her parents were and any other information on Russell and his parents.
but I can't find anything. and no one in my family knows anything ( I know more then they do) and my grandparents are already gone. so i can't ask them.
