Am looking for information on Saxton/Sexton family from Ohio. My father, James Eugene Saxton, was born in Youngstown, in March,1939. His father, Eugene Walter, was born in Mooresville, as was HIS father, Boice SEXTON.
Boice married Helen Crites; Eugene married Mary Alice Hattery. Eugene died when my father was very young and Mary remarried a man,(last name was Wise), who shot her around 1955. He was then raised by foster parents, Richard & Edith Woodring. Mary's parents were Harry Homer Hattery and Verna Alice Hofer. I'm pretty sure they all passed away in Ohio. We believe Boice changed the name from SEXTON to SAXTON.
James E. Saxton was in the Navy in the late 50's, early 60's. He married Josephine Matthews from Darlington, SC and after living on Fla. a short while, he made his home in SC, where he died of lung cancer in 2001. He left behind 3 children, Deborah(me), Tina and Richard in SC and 3 sisters, Glenda, Bonnie and Barbara, who reside in Fla.
