I'm not related.

Margaret was not born Noble Co OH, as it wasn't formed until 1851 from Wash., Monroe, Guernsey, Morgan Cos.

1850 George & Margaret are in Aurelius, Wash. Co OH.

On dau Lucinda SCHAFER's death cert [b 1-10-1855; d 4-22-1933 Noble OH], it states her parents are George EPLER/Margaret LUKE. This couple is surrounded by LUKEs in 1850 Wash Co OH. Lvg next door to the EPLERs is Thos LUKE b 1814 VA, and with his family is Elizabeth LUKE b 1790 unk.
There is the possibility James LUKE b 1796 VA & w/Parmelia are the parents of Margaret.

Death certs can be incorrect, but after trying to locate COMBS & LUKE in both Cos, LUKE seems more plausible, plus the proximity of the EPLER/LUKE families in Wash Co.

Geo/Margaret also had son James.
James Henry EPLER
b. 4-16-1862 Noble Co OH
d. 3-27-1940 Wash Co OH; bur Mt Solano? WV [might be in Parkersburg WV]
w/Eveline
f: unk
m: Margaret LUKE

NOBLE CO MARRIAGES
EPLER
7-9-1873 William - Mary CUMPSAN
12-26-1878 Frank - Lizzie GIBBONS
[Frank d 7-29-1921 ae 69y 5d, Hocking OH; bur Marietta OH]
2-1-1872 Lucinda Ellen - William H [Henry] SCHAFER
11-19-1878 Mary - Anthony SMITHBERGER

Frank & Lucinda b Harriettsville, Noble Co OH.

It's interesting....George EPLER says he was b OH/Eng. All the EPLERs I've run across were b Ger/Austria, including those of Elk Twp, Noble Co OH.

Hope this helps.
Phyl
