Schanck family in Ohio early 1800s

In a family history document I found on the web, it states that "Mary E. Schanck (Gere), Hannah Schanck (Rockwell) and Ira C. Schanck were children of William Schanck and Phoebe Hinkley of Ohio. Wm. Schanck, son of Wm. Schanck and Mary Hoffmire; Mary Hoffmire daughter of Isaac Hoffmire ..." I know that according to census records Mary Schanck Gere was born 1825-7 in NY, married William E. Gere (b 1825 NY) in 1845 and their first child, Ira. S. Gere was born in Sep 1846 in Ohio (Fairfield OH according to his Civil War record). Mary was said to be from Norwalk OH. I would appreciate any onformation on these Schancks and would like to know of any other researchers pursuing this line or Ohio Schancks in general. Many thanks, Michael Menke, mmenke@decisionstrategies.com
