Having known of my greatuncle, Dewitt Gulliford, I have been able, (with the help of others ! much thanks! ) , to find my grandfather. He was Joseph Lyons Gulliford. I have been told that my grandfather, Joseph Lyons Gulliford born Ohio Nov. 1885 served in both the USArmy and Navy. I have not been able to find any military information. Can you help me? I know that he lived in Ohio, Pa and Georgia. I saw a photo of him in an army uniform with stacked rifles and tents in the photo at an army encampment near Columbus, Ohio in the early 1900's. Any idea of the name of the base? Also I believed he served under an Admiral Livingston in the USNavy.( I was not sure of the Admiral's name). The military service had to occurr between 1900 and 1920 when he married my grandmother Elizabeth Christy in Beaver County Pa.
