The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, November 1, 1906
MARY E. NOE was born at Marengo, Morrow County, Ohio, April 28, 1837, where
she grew to womanhood, and died at her home in Chariton, Oct. 28, 1906 at
the age of 69 years and 6 months, after an illness of several months. She
was united in marriage to HOGUE ROBERTS February 25, 1858, and continued to
reside in Ohio until the year 1864, when they removed to Lucas County, Iowa
where they have since resided.
She united with the M.E. Church at the age of 14 and her life has been a
model of simple, plain Christian living. She is preceded to her Heavenly
home by one child which died in infancy. She leaves a husband, four sisters
and two brothers to mourn the loss of a loving wife and sister, besides a
large circle of neighbors and friends.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o
clock, conducted by Rev. Evans, after which interment was made in the
Chariton Cemetery.
