This family is giving me years of roadblocks. Looking for info on: Amos Earl (1827-1907) m. Christianne Emmick (1831-?) -his third marriage (Mary Johnson & Elizabeth Bain), possibly her second? I have census info 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, and their marriage info of June 16 1857, but there are children listed with them that predate the marriage. Any scrap of info on their children or those listed in their household is valuable to me. -Esther Ann Emmick b. Dec 18 1849 -Manelva Earl b. 1851 -Charlotte Earl b. 1852 -Norman Earl b. 1859 -Mary Ellen "Mollie" Earl b. 1861 -Henry L. Earl b. May 1865 -Clarry Earl b. 1870 Christianne's maiden name may have been McClary/McCleary/McCreery etc. and she was born in Virginia. I can't figure out if Esther Ann was her daughter, or maybe a sister, and who the parents were for Esther, Manelva and Charlotte. I have found Amos Earl's grave but not any of his wives' graves, especially Christianne/Cristena and when she died. I have photos of Esther Emmick, and possibly of her grandmother from around 1850, and the back of the photo says "Esther McClary and next to it is written "Emmick" and "Hodges". There may be a connection with a Truman Hodges (stepson, son?). This is a real mess. I have a story of the family being Cherokee, from Virginia, involved as servants with the Pickett family of Virginia related to Pickett's Charge, remembering walking to Ohio from Virginia when either Christianne or Esther was young (6-9 yrs), a story of a husband that disappeared in Virginia and they thought Pickett killed him which is why they fled. Esther Emmick married John T. Jameson in Cardington, Feb. 14 1867. The father, James Jameson and mother Hannah Ferguson lived in Lincoln Township in Morrow County and were there before it was formed, I think in the parts that were Delaware County. They also lived in Millersburg which became Holmes County. I have their photographs, also, and they married in 1820 in Coshocton County, Ohio. Any help, no matter how small of a shred of evidence or a family story, are greatly appreciated. I have lots of puzzle pieces and none of them fit together. I live about an hour from Cardington and have been there and Mt. Gilead to dig for clues but haven't found much and the trail has been a dead end for a few years now.
