William and Mary immigrated to PA then migrated to OH in 1810 and settled in what is now Morrow Co. where many of their descendents lived in the 1800's. William was b. 1771. Another William W. Evans b. 1804 also lived in Morrow Co. , possibly a son who seems also to have married a Mary Rees. The Morrow Co. website had a bio of Prof. Byran Jinkins who married Maria E. Evans, a daughter of Benjamin Evans (b. abt. 1825 OH, m. Hannah Powell) who was a son of William W. and Mary Rees Evans who had immigrated from Wales. I'm having difficulties sorting out the various Evans because it looks like the 2 Williams named their children by the same names but there is about a 20 year difference in their ages. A descendent of William W. Evans married into my grandfather's Alban/Davies family who lived in Van Wert Co., OH in the 1870's and later. One male Evans in the Morrow Co., OH 1850 census was from Montgomeryshire, Wales. My maternal grandmother was a descendent of William Evans who immigrated from Welshpool, Montgomeryshire, Wales to Radnor, Delaware Co., Ohio. Daughter Mary E. Evans, b. 1848 Radnor moved to Van Wert Co., OH in the 1870's after she married Edward R. Hughes. There are two William Evans listed in the Harmony, Delaware Co., OH 1840 census and in 1850 a William Evans lived in Harmony Tsp., Morrow Co. Morrow Co. was formed from part of Delaware (and other) counties in 1848. Any help and information on these Morrow and Delaware Co. Evans will be appreciated. Notify Administrator about this message?
