Are you still searching for these death certificates? The Ohio Historical Society is the official repository for the death certificates filed with the State of Ohio. If the person died in Ohio in 1918 the certificate is there. It's just that there are many errors in the index. There are ways around that - time consuming, yes, but it can be done. I go to the OHS often - if you are still searching I will look for you.
