Retired Brick Company Superintendent Dies
Edlin P. Metzger, 79 of Somerset died at 1:30 pm
Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospital after a long
illness. Mr Metzger was born August 19, 1884, at Somerset, a son of Jacob and Martha Snider Metzger. He was a
retired superintendent of Belden Brick Company of
Somerset. Mr Metzger was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic
Church at Somerset, Holy Name Society, Third Order of
St Dominic, Catholic Order of Foresters and Maccabees.
Surviving are his widow Gertrude, five daughters,
Mrs Elsie Fox, of Columbus; Miss Mildred and Miss
Mable Metzger both of Columbus, Sister M. Casinia, OP
St Mary's of the Springs, Columbus; and Mrs Elanor
Dodge of Greenfield. Two sisters Mrs Gertrude Harris
and Mrs Mary Litzinger both of Newark. six
grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at10:30 am Friday at Holy
Trinity Church Burial will be in Holy Trinity
Cemetery. Friends may call at Thomas Funeral home after 7
p.m. today.
