I went to an very old cemetery looking for ancestors graves. When it was found, it was prety shabby and not being from Ohio or even close, cannot remember the name or where it really was. The notes I do have were written like this, along with some history:

OLD BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY
The Regular Baptist Chruch-Thorn Township, Perry County, Thornville, Ohio, was built on an acre of ground given to them by Henry Bowman. He was one the first settlers in Thron Twp., then in Fairfield Co., Ohio. The first building was erected on hewn logs about 1824. The first person buried in the cemetery was child named Israel Penrod.

It was later known as the Union Baptist Church. Jonas Grove rebuilt the church after it was destroyed by fire.

Location of cemetery: NW Sec 17 NE corner, 2 miles SW of Thorn twp. Rds. #426 & #80. Beginning at SW corner at west edge [front] the first row is now in and under a fence erected there.

Susan Griffin, wife of Rev. Wm. Karr is buried in this cemetery along with several children. We did locate this cemetery over a decade ago and it is almost in complete ruin and most of the gravestones are broken or missing. Some along the back area, away from the road were still there. I was able to find one small stone, barely readable and it ws for Susan Karr! (or Susan Kerr)

Thank You for taking to read this posting.
