Hi,
I am trying to track down info on my Great Great Grandfather, Alvah James Phillips. He is in the 1870 census as James Philips with his wife Eliza (who also went by Louise and Louisa) and several of their children in Bearfield Twp. Eliza/Louisa's maiden name was Hess. If I'm not mistaken, there was a Zachariah and Hannah Hess living near them. I believe that Zachariah was Eliza's brother and Hannah (whose maiden name was Phillips) was Alvah James' sister. If anyone has any info on this family, I would love to hear it. The census record is the only record I have of them in Perry County as they were married in Morgan County and by 1880, Alvah James Phillips is out of the picture (would love to know what happened to him) and Eliza is living with some of her kids in Rome Twp in Athens County. 1880 Census lists her as being divorced. Thanks in advance.
