I am looking for parental information on John R Myers, born about 1843, place unknown. In 1863 he married Mary Jane Johnson, daughter of John Johnson and Nancy Starr of Camp Creek, Pike County, Ohio, where John and Mary Jane were married. Sometime after the marriage they moved to Chillicothe, Ross County Ohio where one of their children was born: John A, March 1863. There were other children to this marriage, but in Pike County again. John R was the right age to serve in the Civil War, but children were born after the war. Is there anyone who can help me find when or where John R died, was born and who his parents were. His other sons were Samuel D- 1867 and William H- 1868. I cannot find John R on the 1870 census that is conclusively the correct John R, but three daughters credited him as their father, last born in 1875. Any help would be appreciated. This is my paternal gg grandfather.
