I am looking for any information on John Rupe who married Elizabeth McConnell. John was born about 1801. I have found a record naming a John Rupe was a drummer in the war in 1812 (not sure if the same) I have also heard mention of him possibly being a minister? I have not proof of this. I do not know when John died, but Elizabeth remarried in 1880 to Richard Simmons. I do not know when Elizabeth died or where she is buried either.
I am also searching for any information on Elizabeth's father - John McConnell born 1763 in VA. He married Barbara Bowman abt 1792. He is buried in Beech Grove Cementary and is noted as fighting in the Revolutionary war. From what is mentioned, he held land in Scioto county. He later moved in IN and held quite a bit of land in Muncie.
Any information on this family would greatly be appreciated. Any suggestions of searches...anything :) I have been looking for a while, and can't find hardly anything. Many thanks!
