I don't know much about the Wilkes family. I just found today a connection to a second cousin, Colonel (real name) ADAIR, who married Opal Lucy Wilkes, who was born 25 July 1918. She was supposed to have been born in Granite, Kiowa County, Oklahoma. Okay, on another place, I found Opal's parents, and they were married 2 July 1918 Beckham County, Oklahoma. The date was found on a search at the Genweb Archives. This is circling around an area (Grady County, OK) where I know that Colonel Adair was living at one time, before removing to California. His mother and a sister are buried in Grady Co. OK.

Now, I have CARSON family in my data base, who are from the Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma area. Gladys Carson was said to have been born 5 July 1898 Duncan, OK, or actually the place should be Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory. The Carson family that are kin, were in the area at that time. BUT, I don't have a Gladys Carson entered into the database.

Question time; is anyone related to any of the people I have listed? I would really like to know if my family is more connected than previously thought. Joy
