I do not live in Beckham County, but thought you might be interested in the brief information about T. A. O'Bryant as found in the book, OKLAHOMA METHODISM IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, by Leland Clegg and William B. Oden, copyright 1968.

It would be helpful to remember that in the mid 1800's, for a variety of reasons, the Methodist Church became divided. The 3 major divisions were: Methodist Episcopal Church, Methodist Episcopal Church South, and Methodist Protestant Church.

The book lists all Methodist ministers who served in Oklahoma from 1907 - 1939, the year the church united.

Page 396, T.. A. O'Bryant was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church South. The date he was received is shown as unknown. He transferred to another Conference in 1909. (Based upon the 1910 census he transferred to the New Mexico Conference, living in Chaves County.)

The only Sayre Methodist Church during those years was a Methodist Episcopal Church South. There was a Sayre Circuit for the M. E. South Church, but that did not begin until 1917.

I had hoped to find a history of the Sayre church online, but did not find one. If you don't receive a response to your query, I suggest writing to the church. In all probability, a history has been written.
