Anyone have info on the Johnsons of Beckham county? My grandfather was Seth Wroten Johnson (1896 - 1979). He lived in Doxey at the time he was drafted for WW I - his draft record incorrectly lists him as 'Johnson, Self W.'. My grandmother was Flossie Brooks (Wells) Johnson (1897? - 1980). She was teaching at Merritt school when they met in a boarding house and were married Jan, 23, 1924. His folks were James Wiley Johnson and Luvenia Sue (Edwards) Johnson. He had brothers Sherman (who lived near by them his entire life and died in Elk City), Tom (who worked for ODOT and passed away of Alzheimers in a nursing home at Stroud), sisters Celta Caldonia Johnson (passed away in Boulder,Co), Ruby (Pratt) Johnson (passed away in Abilene), and Eva (Bible) Johnson (deceased). My grandfather, his wife, and parents are all buried at Fairlawn in Elk City. My mother's name is Glenna Doris (Johnson) Pickett and lives in Northeast Oklahoma, as I do.
