They were in Blaine Co. OK in 1900:

1900, Blaine Co. OK, Lincoln Twp.
Lou Carpenter, head, May 1872, 28, m6, KS NY KY
Mary M. Carpenter, wife, Sep 1878, 23, m6, 3/3, MO MO MO
Luther M. Carpenter, son, Sep 1895, 4, MO KS MO
Lyda? Carpenter, dau, Apr 1897, 3, MO KS MO
Jesse Carpenter, son, Jan 1899, 1, MO KS MO

Was the spelling of his first name "Lewis" on the SS5? Outsiders like the census-taker seem to have spelled it both ways, but if the SS5 was filled out by a family member, Lewis would seem to be the preferred spelling.

Looks from this record as if the children's birth records should be in MO.
