My mother was born in 1915 and when she was old enough for school, she attended in Caddo Co. Oklahoma. Seems she referred to the school as Washita. I could be wrong. I do know she had a photo of her class and mostly indian kids made up the class. She spoke of her 'old maid school teacher, Sallie/Sally Carter. Anyone have any info on Miss Carter? I lost tract of a TN born Sally Carter and trying to find out if she could be the same Sally. Thanks! spindletop@gmail.com
