The James A. Szafran (1972-2004) you refer to was my brother-in-law and a good friend. He met my wife's sister, Tina, in Oklahoma whilst they were both art students. They were married in December 1994 in Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1996 they had a son, my nephew Tobias James Szafran, and moved to England, to a small town called Thirsk in North Yorkshire. James was a somewhat exotic character in the local farming community (not many cowboys in these parts!), but he was popular and well liked. Sadly, in 2004, whilst in Arico, Tenerife, James was struck by a car whilst crossing the road and killed instantly. He is buried on the island. His son, Toby, is in touch with James' parents and visits Oklahoma when he can. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news if this is the James you are looking for, but he was a good man and I, for one, still miss him.
