Benjamin Thomas Johnson born Jackson Co., TN married Matilda Jane Oxford in Washington Co., AR 1867. Tahlequah City Directory, 1896, Indian Territory & Cherokee County, lists a business for Ben Johnson as groceries and one for what appears to be his brother, William as general merchandise. Benjamin T Johnson died 1903 in Tahlequah and is reported to be buried in Molly Fields Cemetery. Jane died in 1932 also reported to be buried in Molly Fields. Son Thomas Burt and his wife Sarah F Pilcher along with son Van Buren and his wife Hettie Weaver may be buried in Molly Fields Cemetery as well.
Any information available about death dates for any of these people would be greatly appreciated. Any descendants of this Johnson family still living in Cherokee Co.? Would love to share information on these people. You can email me directly if you prefer. KRai3@aol.com
