you might want to investigate the 1910 and 1920 censuses for Cherokee County, i think there was a 14 mile creek township on that census and if your people lived there, they should have been enumerated.

there was a maney or many family from that area of Georgia that you may want to investigate, the spelling of that surname is so very close to the one you mentioned in your post.

Taney County, Missouri, and a few of the adjoining Missouri counties, had a lot of Cherokee who made Dawes applications.
Some of these were rejected.
So, you might want to investigate the 'rejected' applications in your search.
And, some of these rejected applications were made to the Eastern Cherokee, not just the Western Cherokee, so bear that in mind as well.
