Report card of Jesse Sampson states that he was in the 8th grade in 1913, in Cottonwood School, Fletcher, Oklahoma. His teacher was J.A. Carter.

I have a copy of a picture taken before 1910, which shows the students attending Cottonwood School. The teacher was Miss Eva Higgins. Only two students are identified: Jesse and his older brother, James B. "Buster" Sampson.
