I believe it was submerged when the dam at Ketchum (the Grand River Dam) was closed, back around 1939. My grandmother's grandfather Nidiffer had a store at Echo, I've been told, and with it the post office. Grandmother (Annie Nidiffer, later Annie Allison) was the youthful postmistress prior to her marriage.

To answer your question hopefully a little more precisely, I understand it wasn't far from the town of Bernice. Bernice was moved to its presnt location when the dam was under construction. It's not terribly far from Grove (Delaware County), or from the Rolston Cemetery on Monkey Island (which is not actually an island).
