1910 Delaware Co.census lists two Blackbear families, Ka na ha ya Da and wife Nancy with da. Maggie 3 and son David 1 1/2 and Nancy's mother Elsie Big Acorn and Nancy's sister. The other family was William and wife Ida. In the 1920 census Wm is not listed but Ka na ha ya Da is listed as Kenohe Blackbear with wife's named spelled Dick. Daughter Maggie and mother in law Elsie and sister in law not there but son David is. I have an obit for Blackbear family in 1917. "A full blood Cherokee waman by the name of Black Bear was buried at Wickliffe #35 Tuesday." This cemetery is 7 miles NE of Salina Ok. next to the Wickliffe #35 School. I beleive she is buried on the east side , same as the school location. What I would like to know is if this is Nancy Blackbear's obit? There are also two other graves close to where I feel this ___Blackbear is buried and wonder if it might be her mother and sister. Any information will be helpful.
