Hi Laresa,
I'm sure that your grandmother has some great pictures and I'd love to see them once you go thru all of them. I would really appreciate being able to scan them and save them to a disk for future reference.

Fonda did have a ball team. Seiling has old papers from 1901 to 1916 and there are many articles about local baseball in them. There are also some pictures naming the players. Darlene Robinson lives at Canton. Her father was Mr. Tyree who ran the Fonda store for many years up to about 1944 or 1946. He died suddenly, her mother sold the store and she and her daughters moved to Canton. She might be a contact to go to for help. Also I think Tommy Nichols great grandparents or some relation ran Fonda's store in the early 1900s.

There are also the two Dewey County history books, "Spanning The River." There are pictures in it and there is some Fonda history. The big past time in this time period was baseball and there are alot of stories in the old Dewey County newspapers telling about the baseball games between the towns. I'll check my sources and get back with you.
