I came across a newspaper article about the killing of the Harmon County sheriff in August 1909 while he slept in his bed. The wife of the sheriff charged a man with the killing, then after the many was arrested, she shot him at the Mangum Courthouse.
The newspaper article is very difficult to read. It appears the last name of the sheriff startswith an S but is not legible from that point - his name was 4-6 letters long. Does anyone know the name of this sheriff?
