Sheriff John W. Sims of Harmon County was killed in August 1909 while sleeping in his bed - shot in the head. There was an inquest and it was not determined if he killed himself, someone unknown person was in the house and killed him, or it it was an accidental killing. His home was some 15 miles from Hollis, OK.
I located newspaper articles where it talked about his burial and since he did not belong to any particular church, that he was a member of the Masons and Odd Fellows and that the Masnos/Odd Fellows buried him according to their rites - but it does not give in what cemetery he was buried.
He has no children, but he did have a brother, George W. Sims, who was superintendent of schools in Greer County.
I am endeavoring to locate where Sheriff John W. Sims was buried.
