Corinne,
According to the book "Planning the Route/& History of Harmon County", Dryden Community was a bustling place in the early 1900's. There was a doctor, drug store, hardware store, general store, gin, a millinery shop, a school and Post Office. The town was named after a popular poet of the day, Dryden.
Hope this helps.
Linda
