Can someone please tell me the exact location of Jordan Cemetery near Laverne? We were in Harper Co. last month, but were unable to find it. Is it possible that the name was changed? Obituary: "Samuel [Lilyan] Edison was born in Logan county Kentucky in 1832, and departed this life 2:30 a.m., Monday, April 9, 1917 aged 84 yrs, 3 months [this should probably be 8 months to agree with other sources], 5 days. He moved to Polk county Missouri in 1856, and married Miss Jane Williams. To this union eleven children were born, of whom four boys and four girls are living namely: Emmet Higginbothem , Redbluff, Calif., J. H. Edison, Battle Mountain, Nev., A. W. Edison, Fallon, Nev., Florence Buck and Eva Cline, Buffalo, Mo., Stella Brown, Kansas City Kan. and Carl Earl Edison, San Francisco, California. In November 1900, he married Mrs. Paul Higginbothem, who survives him. He was converted at 21 years of age, on his way to school. He taught school a number of years. He also served the Baptist church at Bolivar, Mo., as a deacon a number of years. He moved to Okla., settling on his farm near Buffalo. He moved near La Verne [ Laverne ] three years ago where he lived until his death. He lived a devoted true Christian life. Happy are the dead who die in the Lord. The funeral was held at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, conducted by Elder J. J. Pulsifer, his text being 1st Thess 4-13 to 18. Interment was made in Jordan Cemetery." Would appreciate any information on my family & hope my information might help someone else. Thanks. Barbara Lane Oregon
