Julia J. Johnson, daughter of Wyley (not sure spelling is correct) and Amanda Holloway Johnson, was born April 16, 1867, and her tombstone says she died Feb. 1, 1919, which is incorrect, because she appears on the 1920 census. She was 1/8 Choctaw. Julia married first W. C. "Cas" Gray, who was reported to have been murdered in 1887. They had three daughters: Effie P. Gray, b. Jan. 1885, Indian Territory Minnie A. Gray, b. April 4, 1885, Indian Territory Willie M. Gray, b. May 1888, Indian Territory Julia Johnson Gray married second to Rufus F. Benton, son of William Benton. Rufus was born Feb. 2, 1861 and died April 1, 1930. Their children were: Rufus Elmer Benton, b. ca. 1895, Indian Territory Osa Benton, b. ca. 1899, Indian Territory Amanda J. English, b. ca. 1911 Cletis English, b. ca. 1913 Rufus Benton, Julia Benton, Julia's first husband, Cas Gray, and many other Bentons, Grays and Englishes are buried in the Benton Cemetery near Ryan, Jefferson Count, Oklahoma.
