Your dad must have been superintendent of Mountain Home school when the school building burned in May 1938. Do you have family stories about what caused the school to burn and how funding was raised to rebuild it? I have found a short note in the Waurika paper simply stating that the school building had burned - no details. I was in school at Mountain Home when the rebuilt school building burned in 1946. The building burned completely. The community pitched in and helped rebuild with contributed labor using materials we were able to obtain from a deactivated WW II army training base. Any information about your family's experiences at Mountain Home that you may be able to provide could provide more historical details about the history of the school.
