Seeking information on Lora Mae Silverthorne (1914-1991) who married Walter Edward Dennis (1906-1975) on January 16,1932, in Pine bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas.
Her parents were William Monthief/Moncrief/Keith Silverthorne (b.1874/Illinois/d.ca 1945/Hawthorn County, Oklahoma) and Myrtle Atteberry (b.1884/Illinois/d.after 1960,Arkansas).
I understand from my late paternal uncle, Ross Woodward Dennis, that William Silverthorne requested his final resting place to be Oklahoma was because he was part-Ojibwa Indian and wanted to buried on sacred Native American land. He also stated that the name Silverthorne may have been a corruption of Silverhorn which he stated was a Native American name. Now that my paternal uncle is gone, I have no way of verifying this information. Seeking information from the Native peoples in Hobart, Oklahoma to help me with this journey.
