Am seeking information regarding an inscription possibly on the referenced building. Have recently learned from a most helpful Oklahoma Library Technician that my BEADLES family operated a dry goods store in Guthrie. He indicated there is an inscription on the building. Source data for their presence there is: Smith's First Directory of Oklahoma Territory For the Year Commencing August 1st, 1890 (Guthrie, Oklahoma Territory: James W. Smith, 1890), p.37 (in Guthrie): Beadles & Son (JB and WS Beadles) boots and shoes, n s Ok ave bet 1st and 2d A second message indicates: "the Beadles are not listed in the 1892 Guthrie and Logan County directory. They are not listed in the 1890 Oklahoma Territorial Census. There is a historical marker in front of the Beadles Building in downtown Guthrie." James B. Beadles IS in the 1920 census of Guthrie but is buried in Morgan County, Il. I am interested in any information regarding this family. They came from central Illinois and apparently returned there for some reason. Notify Administrator about this message?
