No obituary was found in the "Stillwater Gazette" newspaper, Stillwater, OK for Robert Burris, but the microfilm was also very dark.

No probate record for Robert Burris.

No listing in the Strode Funeral Home book.

R.L. Burris, age 24, b. AR, resident Stillwater, O.T., married Ellen Kirby, age 22, b. KS, resident Stillwater, O.T., on 30 Aug 1905 and can be found in Payne County marriage book 4, page 399.

From the "Stillwater News Press" newspaper, Stillwater, OK, Tuesday, Feb. 22, 1983, page 2, col. 3--
"Helen Burris Funeral Held
Services for Mrs. Helen Kirby Burris, a veteran of the 1889 Oklahoma Land Run, were held Saturday, Feb. 19, in California. Mrs. Kirby died Friday, Feb. 18, in Redding, Calif., at age 100.
Born Oct. 26, 1882 in Kansas, the daughter of Franklin Pierce and Louvinia (Whitson) Kirby, she came to Oklahoma in a covered wagon during the land run of 1889, settling on a family homestead southwest of Stillwater.
Following her marriage in 1905 to Robert Burris, the couple moved to Colorado. She returned to Stillwater after the death of her husband in 1925, and five years later moved to California, where she has since resided.
A frequent visitor to Stillwater, she is survived by several nieces and nephews in the area.
Other survivors include seven children: Jewel Eden, Mrs. Winifred Saffren, Mrs. Geraldine Hargis, Maynard Burris, Raymond Burris and Edmund Burris, all of California, and Robert Burris of Mississippi.
Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren."

From the "Stillwater News Press" newspaper, Stillwater, OK, Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1944, page 3, col. 8--
"Z.T. Burris Dies Tuesday
A heart attack was fatal late Tuesday afternoon to Zachary T. Burris, 60, while he was spreading lime on his farm one and one-fourth miles west of Payne Center school. He had lived in that community for 50 years.
Survivors include the widow and one son, Melvin Burris, an engineer with the soil conservation service at Chandler; and two daughters, Mrs. Leo Breeden of Crook, Colo. and Mrs. George Brock of Tulsa.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Strode Funeral Home."

From the "Stillwater News Press" newspaper, Stillwater, OK, Friday, Dec. 22, 1944, page 3, col. 8--
"Z.T. Burris Rites Sunday
Funeral services for Zachary Taylor Burris, 60, who died of a heart attack Tuesday while spreading lime on his farm south of Stillwater, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Strode Funeral home.
Rev. Kenneth Copeland Methodist church pastor, will conduct the memorial service.
Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery, southwest of Stillwater.
Burris was born July 7, 1884, at Fayetteville, Ark., the son of Zachary T. and Lucinda Burris. At the age of 14 he moved to Payne county with his parents to settle south of Stillwater.
He was married here Nov. 6, 1907, to Mary Lotella Kirby and two years following their marriage they pioneered in Western Oklahoma, homesteading a farm in Texas county. They moved to Colorado in 1923 and in 1934 returned to Payne county where they have since lived. When 12 years old he was converted and had since been an ardent Bible student.
Survivors besides the widow include one son, Melvin Burris of Chandler, two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Breeden of Crook, Colo., and Mrs. Lorene Brock of Tulsa; one brother, Benjamin Burris of Rockyford, Colo., and five grandchildren."
