Ralstin, b. 1842/08/07, d. 1929/12/29, buried in Independence, KS --Mary Edith Ralsten, b. 1890/12/03, d. 1937/08/23, buried in Independence, KS From an very illegible microfilm copy of "The Stillwater Gazette" newspaper, Stillwater, OK, Jan. 3, 1930, page 8, col. 3-- "Mrs. Jean C. Ralstin Mrs. Jean C. Ralstin, 87, died in Stillwater, Ok., Sunday morning, December 29, 1929, at her home, 230 East Maple avenue. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 11 o'clock at the Strode Funeral home ____ Duncan Street with the Rev. Alvin S. Hock, of St. Andrew's Episcopal church officiating. Burial service, ______ ______ in Independence, Kan., where the body was taken in the Strode ___ne___ ____. Burial was at _____ o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Mrs Ralstin was born in Culghton, ______ ______. She was married to Clayton M. Ralstin in Lewistown, Ill. and they moved to Independence, Kan. around 18__. In April of 189_ they came to Oklahoma. Mr. Ralstin died December 31, 1891. Mrs. Ralstin lived in Stillwater continuously from that time. Mrs. Ralstin is survived by one son, Colin C. Ralstin of the D & F _____ and by two ______ Mrs, _____ Ewan, Cana, Ill. and Mrs. Ann M. Grisham, Independence, Kan. After coming to Stillwater, Mrs. Ralstin reared a number of foster children some of whom now live in or near Stillwater. Mrs. Ralstin's father, Colin ____chison, was a minister in the Methodist church, south at Lewistown, Ill." Ralstin, member of bar...'summoned into the eternal courts'...." From "The Stillwater Gazette" newspaper, Stillwater, OK, Friday, August 27, 1937, page 8, col. 2--- "Mary Edith Ralstin Mrs. Colin Ralstin, 46, died at her home, 210 Maple Street, Stillwater, Ok., August 27, 1937. Funeral services were held at Strode Funeral home at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning, the Rev. Allen S. Davis, pastor of First Presbyterian church here, officiating. Directly following the funeral service, the funeral cortege proceeded to Independence, Kan., where interment was made in the Ralstin lot of the Independence cemetery. Mary Edith Pointer was born on December 3, 1890, at Savannah, Mo. She was married to Colin Ralstin in Stillwater on February 3, 1928. Mrs. Ralstin is survived by her husband, three sisters and two brothers, namely, Charles C. Pointer, Tulsa; Thomas Pointer, Ottumwa, Ia.; Mrs. Grace Bowser, and Mrs. Rose Embrey, both of Boliver, Mo., and Mrs. May Parham, Savannah, Mo. She leaves also two nephews and one niece, Lowell Carpenter and Mrs. Alice Schatz, both of Stillwater, and Harlan Embrey, of Boliver. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Pointer, both died in 1906." In Payne County Miscellaneous Record book 1, page 112, unmarried May P. Ralstin, filed a Quit Claim Deed for lots 13 & 14, Block 56, Stillwater, signed May 1896 in Logan County, OK; pages 236 and 237, Mary P. Ralstin, by Sheriff's Deed from a 4 Dec 1896 Judgment, obtained, Lot 12, block 44, Stillwater; and on page 238 Mary P. Walker, formerly Mary P. Ralstin and Wm. N. Walker, filed a Quit Claim Deed to Jeanne Ralstin for Lot 12, block 44, Stillwater. In Payne County Miscellaneous Record book 9, page 377, Colin Ralstin filed a contract for land purchase in Perkins. In Payne County Patent Record book 1, page 23, was a Final Receipt for Homestead #1223 for Jeanie C. Ralstin from the U.S. Government Land Office at Guthrie for 162.10 acres at $1.25/acre on Aug. 11, 1894, for Lots 9 & 10 E2SE4 SEc. 19 & NE of NE4, and Sect 30, town 18, N Range 4E. Payne County Deed Record book 1, page 588, lot 19, block 42, Stillwater, with Wm. Ralstin. Notify Administrator about this message?
