Karen, Thank you for the information. My dad helped build the Shawnee Lake before I was born. I grew up a mile from the lake and attended Bethel School, but never recall hearing the date it was built. My sister, brothers, and their friends used to ride their bicycles across the lake to visit friends when it froze over during the winter.My dad fished there and set out trot lines. He checked them daily in an old wooden boat with one oar. I was terrified each time I went with him to check the lines.
