Hi Backus Randell was my GG grandfather also. His and Matilda Jane's oldest child Sarah was my great grandmother. She married Joe Crain. Their daughter Jessie Vivian was my grandmother.
Backus wife Matilda died in 1900 in Texmo? Ok and in 1902 he married a Sarah Hunter. It is in the marriage records of Roger Mills County as B.S. Rabdell and Sarah Hunter 1902. Apparently they moved to Texas after that and had children together as they are in the 1910 Wilbarger co tx census as Snith Randell, Sarrah and 2 children born in OK and 2 born in Tx. He died in 1910 I think.
I have been unable to locate either the burial place of Backus or of Matilda.
Backus was in Vernon texas area of Wilbarger county.
