I am searching for information on John Albert Scism, a brother to Richson Henley Scism, my grandfather. In the Scism book it states that John Albert Scism b. in Stoddard County, Missouri and as a young man about 1901 went to Western Oklahoma when the Cheyenne Country was open for settlement. He homesteaded 160 acres of land in Roger Mills County, not far from Sayre, Oklahoma, where he made his home. He married Purdence Wood, born in 1879 in Neosho, Missouri, dgtr of James L Wood. Children: E.C. b. January 19, 1903 m. Pearl Harding; H.O. born July 19, 1905 m. Eva Reel; T. E. born June 08, 1908 m. Gladys Barkley; Louise b. July 08, 1912 m. Henry Redman; E.S.J. b. April 13, 1921.
