November 22, 1949. Survivors include one son, Oder Allen of Strong City, Oklahoma and one daughteer,
Ruby Bounmds of Ratcliff, Texas. Funeral services were conducted in the Baptist church of Strong Ctiy,
Wednesday, November 23, 1949, with Rev. Don Anderson preaching the funeral sermon. Burial was in
the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins
Funeral Home of Cheyenne.

in Galveston, Texas. He came to Roger Mills County with his parents at the age of 16 and had lived
around the Strong City and Roll area since that time.
On February 17, 1910, he married Nanny Cheek at Brantley, Oklahoma. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife
of the home; 2 daughtgers, Inez Rule of Friona, Texas, and Odessa Wright of Roll, Oklahoma; 1 son,
Elmer Allen, Tacoma, Washington; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Preceding him in death were his parents and 2 sisters. Services were held at the Crawford Church of
Christ, January 6, 1980 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. A.L. Martin officiating. Interment was at Silent Home
Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, OK under the direction of Rose Chapel.

(Nannie) Beatrice Allen, 94, died Oct. 19 at Roger Mills Memorial Hospital at Cheyenne. She was born
Oct 15, 1890 in Young County, Texas to William Carter and Nancy Annie Cheek.
She moved to Oklahoma near the Brantley community and married Oder E. Allen on Feb. 17, 1910 in
Brantley. They moved near Strong City to make their home.
Mrs Allen had lived in the Durham community the last few years. Those who preceeded her in death
were her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers. Those who preceeded her in death were her

Survivors include two daughters; Inez Rule of Friona, TX, Odessa Wright of Durham, Okla; one son,
Elmer Allen of Tacoma, Washington; one sister, Nellie Mikeal of Pampa, TX; seven grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Services were held Monday at the Crawford
Church of Christ with Harold Knight officiating. Interment followed in Seilent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger
Mills County, OK. Her great-grandsons served as pallbearers. Arrangements were made by Rose
Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne

Gwinda F. Handley McInnis Bounds, 91, of Orange died May 6, 2005, at Pinehurst Health and
Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in
Orange. Officiating will be Mr. Bill Stevens. Burial will follow at Alexandria Memorial Gardens in
Alexandria, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bounds was
born in Buck, Texas, was a former resident of Buna and resided in Orange since 1970. She was a
homemaker and a member of Old First Orange Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Mallie and Ora Handley; daughter, Eddie Lou McInnis; brother,
Rondald Handley; sisters, Bernice Hemphill, Luzelle Williams, Agnes Anderson and Maxine Handley;
first husband, Eddie Lee McInnis; and son-in-law, Paul Sahualla. She is survived by her husband, Horris
Bounds of Orange; daughter, Mary Lou Turner also of Orange; son, John "Bo" Bounds and wife Susan of
Little Cypress; daughter Karen Brown and husband Robert of West Orange; daughter, Ruth Sahualla of
Little Cypress; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Serving as
pallbearers will be Robert Brown, Benny Riley, John "Bo" Bounds, L.C. Welch and John Williams.
Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Sahualla. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Odyssey

Graveside services were held at Friona Cemetery with the
Rev. Lawrence Thompson of Shamrodk, former pastor of United Pentecostal of Friona, officiating.
Arrangements were by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rule was born in Strong City, Oklahoma. She
moved to Friona in 1931 from Cheyenne. She was a homemaker and a member of the United
Pentecostal Church.
She married Sam Rule in 1931 at Cheyenne. He died in 1980.
Survivors include a
daughter, Patsy Riley of Tacoma, Washington; a sister, Odessa Wright of Durham, Oklahoma; a brother,
Elmer Allen of Tacoma; a granddaughter, Tracy Rust, who she raised; two grandchildren; and two great
grandchildren.

Sam D. Rule of 902 West Sixth Street, Friona passed away at about 5:50 p.m. Thursday in the Farmer
County Community hospital.
Graveside services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Friona Cemetery under the direction of Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home.
Rule had been a Friona resident since 1929, moving to Friona from Cheyenne, Oklahoma. He was born October 19, 1909, in Strong City, Oklahoma. Rule
was a retired farmer.He married Inez Allen December 29, 1931 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Survivors include the wife, Inez; one daughter, Mrs. Patsy Riley of Friona; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Deaton of Lubbock, Texas, Mrs. Avis Wilkerson of Temple and Mrs. Zayde Griffith of Friona.Five brothers also survive: Bob of Friona, Boots of Dolores, Colorado, Buddy of Port Isabel, Texas, Ben of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jim of Yuma, Arizona. Three grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Rule was Jesse Wright of Durahm brother-in-law and the son-in-law of Mrs. Oder Allen.

Jesse C. Wright was born December 23, 1909 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Addie Belle and George
Washington Wright and passed away April 25, 1994 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital at the age of
84 years, 4 months and 2 days. Jesse moved with his parents east of Roll, Oklahoma in 1925. He
married A. Odessa "Jackie" Allen on April 20, 1935 in Arnett, Oklahoma. They lived east of Roll until they
moved to Crawford in 1945 to make their home where he was a farmer, daityman and after his retirement
became a carpenter. It could be said that his hobby was helping other people. Jesse was always there
giving blood when anyone called and needed help. He was a member of the Crawford Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Services were held at 2:00 p.m.,
Thursday, April 28, 1994 at the Crawford Church of Christ officiated by Ray Don Jackson and assisted
by Earl Reed. Interment will be in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under
the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral service. Survivors include his wife Jackie, of the home; 2 daughters
and sons-in-law, Joyce and Pudge Beavin, Cheyenne, Dolores and Jim Blundell, Perryton, TX; 1 son
and daughter-in-law, J. Doyle and Judy Wright, Ft. Smith, AR; 3 brothers George Wright, Crawford, OK,
Clyde Wright, Sayre, OK; Chester Wright, Cheyenne, OK; 1 sister Ruby Smith, Wichita, KS; 6
grandchildren
