My g-g grandfather was John F. "Johnny" Bacon, born about 1870 (I believe). He married Sarah Frances Miller around 1896...she was the daughter of John Fletcher Miller, and related also to Zack T. Miller. John and Frances bacon had four sons...Ralph, Zack, Roy and Armon. Frances died in 1909, and in 1910 John was living with his four boys alone in Roger Mills County. I recently obtained two of John's diaries from about 1894 to 1904, when he was living and doing business in and around Sweetwater. They're actually pretty fascinating, as they document what he did, who he worked for, what he bought and what he paid for things. Some of the names mentioned (mostly men he worked for) are Frye, Coffey, Miller, Thurmond, Gray, Crawford, Woodward, Puryear and Davis. Some names I recognize from doing a bit of research, but I still can't locate any other Bacon's that belong to my family. Was wondering if anyone recognizes any of these names, or perhaps my Bacon ancestors, or if someone wanted to see if THEIR ancestors show up in these diaries. Notify Administrator about this message?
