Seminole County Gravesite located by Construction Crew

This evening's news on KFOR-TV carried a story about at least two graves that were located by a Seminole County, Oklahoma road construction crew. They were unaware that any cemetery plot was located in the area. I think it is much to their credit that they immediately stopped the project and are very concerned about disturbing someone's resting place. Mostly you hear about graves that are disturbed by those who don't care, because it isn't their relative.

It is possible that these graves belong to members of the Seminole Nation, and the Seminole Nation is sending investigators to see if they can identify the tombstones. I believe one of the persons died in Oct. 1911.

Seminole County has said that if no one claims the cemetery, they would at least put up a memorial marker.

If you have information I would suggest you contact Seminole County Commissioners Office or the Seminole Nation.
Hopefully someone can identify these tombstones that belonged to early Oklahoma residents.
